I Have A Viable Pregnancy!

Moms, Moms 2 Be and Moms In Waiting- you know even after we have gotten ourselves mentally, physically and financially ready to welcome our new arrival, there is still SO much more to think about!

Peed on the Stick - check

Confirmed pregnancy with OBGYN- check

PREGNANT - NOW WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENS NEXT!

For purposes of anonymity my Doctor will be titled Dr. H

My husband is driving home from work, sharing details of his day as we do everyday and then the table shifts- he says, “enough about my crazy day, how was your day Baye”? In my mind, Flo has told me I am 10 days late and she has never gotten to 10 days! Yet, I say, I am fine-it was fine, I am watching the news and they are really down playing the Pandemic, I believe it is going to be much worst than they are predicting”. He then says, “did you take a pregnancy test yet- I don’t know what you are waiting for, you are super late”. I smiled so hard, that he said he felt my cheek through the phone. LOL What a sigh of relief, my husband was thinking what I was thinking! When he gets home, we immediately go into the bathroom, of course I had the tests onsite!, and the two lines appeared INSTANTLY! Now, if you have ever taken the test and experienced loss- you begin to notice the rapidness and darkness of the two lines. Call me crazy, but it is true. This time, we BOTH, said, we are pregnant at the same time and my husband goes on to say, “I knew it, it is going to be a great Christmas”.

The next morning, I call to schedule the appointment, I give the dates of my last period and she provides an appointment 6 weeks away rather than 8 weeks due to the prior losses. Now, the nail bitting begins, there is no way that I can make it 6 weeks from now! BUT I did make it and when I got to that appointment, I was SO tired, swear, I do not think either of us slept a wink. It was a Netflix and Popcorn night! Dr. H comes in, gets the ultrasound machine prepped, we converse, and then! Dr. H says let me take a look at a few things and I will be back in. Oh no…, again, my husband is on the phone, “do not worry we will try again.. everything will be great”! WELL, as I fight back tears, Dr. H comes in with a welcome packet, a follow up appointment and checks the box yes for a VIABLE pregnancy. Monday May 11, 2020 was the happiest day of my life, paralleled with October 1, 2010 which was the day I was wed to my best friend; what a beautiful way to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary!

I remember being in such awe and grateful that God saw favor to bless us with a child! -1 Samuel 1:27 I sat in the car starring at the ultra sound photo! “It is truly amazing how someone so small could inspire a love so grand!” The song that played as I sat in the truck was Wait by Nia Allen. If you have time, take a moment to listen!
