The TV is forever Changed
I was speaking with a good friend of mine who also had a baby during the Pandemic. We came to the terms, we have almost like an independent membership into this secret society of children because Pandemic babies, yes, Pandemic babies, are in a category all to themselves! When I think of the milestones we have crossed months before the “American Pediatric Association” shares that we should be reaching, I immediately turn to my husband and say, “Mensa” here we come! LOL The touching post for today comes after our freshly turned 1 year old, turned the channel, was able to record her television show, INDEPENDENTLY, and blasts the volume to nearly 70! The television no longer belongs to us, each morning, all day and until bedtime, the televsision belongs to her! My grandmother shared, when she raised her children, the television was not even an option as it relates to entertainment and now the television, juice boxes and “games/technology” are raising our children. Despite us affording opportunities for television time, we do make time for reading as well as sorting/counting and being exposed to healthy interactions and communication! Our Princess’ first words are attributed to the consistent language she hears within the home! Remember to talk to around your children to build education! Trust me, they understand more than we will ever know!
